“The World Cup is expected to give a strong boost to Sri Lanka’s indoor cricket scene and sports tourism.”
Sri Lanka will host the 2025 Indoor Cricket World Cup from 27 September to 4 October. The tournament returns to the country after 21 years. Matches will take place at U-Pro Colombo and the Austasia Sports Complex in Thalawathugoda.
The competition includes four categories: Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Under-22 Boys, and Under-22 Girls. Teams from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England, India, Sri Lanka, UAE, and Singapore will join the event.
Over 1,000 players, officials, and supporters will arrive in Sri Lanka. This makes it one of the largest indoor cricket events ever held in the nation. Organizers say the World Cup will boost indoor cricket locally and strengthen sports tourism.
Sri Lanka last hosted the Indoor Cricket World Cup in 2004. Its return is a proud moment for the country’s sporting community. Preparations are already in progress to deliver world-class facilities and an exciting experience for fans and players.
