“India’s bowlers set up the win by restricting Sri Lanka to a manageable total with disciplined spells”
India Women produced a dominant performance to defeat Sri Lanka in the second T20I at Visakhapatnam and take a 2–0 lead in the series.
Sri Lanka batted first and struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack. Regular wickets prevented them from building momentum, and they finished with a modest total of 128 runs in their 20 overs.
India made light work of the chase. Openers set the tone early, with Shafali Verma playing an aggressive and confident knock. She remained unbeaten, striking the ball cleanly and keeping the pressure firmly on Sri Lanka. Jemimah Rodrigues also played a supporting role as India reached the target comfortably with plenty of overs to spare.
The win highlighted India’s strength in both batting and bowling. Their bowlers controlled the game from the start, while the batters showed intent and clarity during the chase.
With this convincing victory, India Women strengthened their position in the series and will head into the next match full of confidence.
