“The change shows how strategic adjustments behind the scenes can impact on-track results.”
Hamilton’s Ferrari race engineer, Riccardo Adami, has moved to a new role ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 season. He will work as the Ferrari Driver Academy and Test Previous Cars Manager. In this role, he will focus on developing young drivers and overseeing testing programs with older cars.
Hamilton will have a new race engineer for 2026, though Ferrari has not yet announced who it will be. Adami’s many years of experience in Formula 1 will continue to benefit the team and support its broader development goals.
As a race engineer, Adami managed race strategy, advised on car setup, and guided Hamilton during races. He joined Ferrari in 2015 and has also worked with drivers including Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz, helping shape their race performance.
Ferrari aims to start the 2026 season with fresh energy and new approaches in race operations. This change gives Hamilton and the team a chance to learn from past experiences, adapt, and aim for stronger results throughout the season.
