“Consistency, determination, and belief help build a legacy that inspires future generations.”

Jody Cundy won his 22nd world track title at the 2025 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Rio de Janeiro. Competing in the C4 1km time trial, the 47-year-old secured his 16th consecutive world title in this event.

Cundy posted a time of 1:03.872, finishing over 1.7 seconds ahead of silver medalist Archie Atkinson. Despite a challenging season and doubts about competing, he delivered a strong performance. His victory was part of a successful opening day for the British team, which also won medals in other events.

Cundy began his sporting career in swimming, winning nine Paralympic gold medals, before switching to cycling in 2006. Since then, he has become one of the most decorated para-athletes, amassing 22 world titles.

Looking ahead, Cundy is cautious about his future but continues to perform at the highest level, showing no signs of slowing down.
