“Fans can look forward to two days of thrilling rugby action and a chance to see emerging teams shine on a big stage.”

Colombo will host the second and final leg of the 2025 Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series on October 18–19 at the Racecourse Stadium. Sri Lanka will feature in the top-tier men’s and women’s sevens series for the first time in nearly six years.

The series brings together 12 national teams in both divisions. Teams will compete for spots in the newly restructured World Rugby HSBC SVNS Division 3, formerly the Sevens Challenger Series. The tournament promises intense competition as teams fight for victories and chances to climb the international rugby ladder.

The Colombo leg is expected to draw large crowds. Sri Lanka’s passionate rugby fans will cheer for their national teams. Over two days, spectators can enjoy high-intensity matches in a vibrant atmosphere. Emerging rugby nations will showcase their talent on a bigger stage. The event will also offer skills clinics, fan engagement activities, and opportunities for young players to meet international athletes.

The tournament will boost rugby’s profile in the region and provide an exciting platform for players and fans. Organizers hope it will inspire a new generation of rugby players in Sri Lanka and strengthen the country’s international presence.
