“This move demonstrates the growing global appeal of the Australian Open.”

The 2026 Australian Open will feature a record-breaking prize money pool, thanks to a boost from Tennis Australia. This increase is designed to benefit players at all levels, from top-ranked stars to qualifiers.

The total prize money for the 2026 tournament will be A$111.5 million, marking a 16% increase from the 2025 total of A$96.5 million. The singles champions will each receive A$4.15 million, while runners-up will get A$2.15 million. Prize money for semifinalists, quarterfinalists, and other rounds has also been raised.

This increase ensures that lower-ranked players and those in qualifying rounds receive more financial support, making professional tennis more sustainable. Tennis Australia says the move is part of their commitment to improving players’ conditions and supporting their careers.

The 2026 Australian Open will take place from January 18 to February 1 at Melbourne Park, Australia.
