Sri Lankan swimmer Akalanka Peiris became the country’s top FINA point scorer after an impressive performance. He scored 716 FINA points in the 50m backstroke, the highest in the national team.

Peiris returned to national competitions after a three-year break. He won gold medals in the 50m, 100m, and 200m backstroke. He also won gold in the 200m individual medley and silver in the 100m individual medley.

Peiris trains in Melbourne, Australia. He continues to improve his skills and represent Sri Lanka in international events.
